Key Personnel

Randy Shumate
Mr. Shumate is the President of MCP. Prior to establishing MCP, he served as Executive Vice President in charge of the direct marketing operations of Transamerica Equipment Financial Services with full P&L responsibility for the $1 billion middle market organization since 1995. Mr. Shumate started in commercial finance with ITT Commercial Finance in 1987 and held positions with increasing responsibility in credit and sales until 1991 when he was promoted to Senior Vice President in charge of the Midwest Region. Under his supervision, this region grew from a startup to generating one of the highest ROE’s (28%) within the organization before ITT was purchased by General Electric in 1995. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a business concentration in Real Estate.

Ron Linn
Mr. Linn is the Chief Investment Officer and Executive Vice President of MCP. Prior to joining MCP, he served as Senior Vice President of Credit and Operations with ORIX Public Finance in Kansas City, Missouri. He was responsible for the credit and operations staff and had $5 million dual signing authority with the group president. Prior to joining ORIX, Mr. Linn was the Credit Manager for Transamerica Equipment Financial Services and reported to Randy Shumate. Prior to Transamerica, he worked for the Midwest Region of ITT Commercial Finance. Ron’s 20 year career in commercial finance began in 1985 as a Senior Credit Analyst for the CIT Group in Wichita, Kansas after spending three years in the accounting field. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Baker University.

Todd Wherry
Mr. Wherry is the Senior Investment Officer of MCP. Prior to joining MCP in February 2006, he served as a Vice President, Commercial Lending Officer with Valley View Bank and Gold Bank. Prior to May 2004, he was employed with Transamerica Equipment Financial Services for six years where he reported to Ron Linn. At TEFS he was responsible for underwriting key accounts in a variety of industries. Mr. Wherry began his 12 year commercial lending career in 1994 with Mercantile Bank as a Commercial Credit Analyst. He earned his Master of Business Administration from University of Kansas.

Terry Thorpe
Mr. Thorpe is the Senior Vice President at MCP and is a veteran of the industry with over 23 years of experience. He will be responsible for helping MCP expand their marketing efforts through direct calling and the long established contacts Mr. Thorpe has developed throughout his career. Prior to joining MCP, Mr. Thorpe enjoyed a long relationship with the Midland’s executive team both at ITT Commercial Finance and Transamerica Equipment Financial Services. During his tenure at those two companies he either directly or indirectly reported to Mr. Shumate for thirteen years. He has also held positions with Fleet Credit Corporation, and General Electric Capital Corporation. He has originated and structured over $500 million of financings during his career. Mr. Thorpe earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.
